Soft Honey Cake
- 2 cups sifted cake flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup honey
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk
Sift flour, salt, soda and spices together.
Cream shortening and honey until fluffy.
Beat egg until light and thick; add to honey mixture.
Add sour milk and fold in sifted dry ingredients.
Turn into 2 greased (8 inch) layer pans and bake in moderate oven (375 degrees F) 25 to 30 minutes.
